Well as most people know live is different ...they let Phil show up hours late to most of the tours he plays ..mostly because of what mike said the overly aggressive donks that want to triple up or leave early ...so they in turn can sit out till the next day ..its part of poker ..and a tool people use ..if im in a tour with alot of chips and two people from the $ i will often take a break and sit out ..but people do abuse it ......just as Phil abuse's all the so called idiots he plays against ..

Poker Narcolepsy

There has recently been a growing number of players(here, i use the term more loosely than usual) that are raising "SITTING OUT" to new levels of absurdity; seemingly granting the state a new poker stategy.
Designed and implemented for a SHORT time away (without penalty) from the table to deal with everyday happenings outside of the 5-minute break period, it was NEVER intended to be a strategy for dealing with the overly aggressive donkish players(?) that predominate early play. It is absolutely pitifiul that tables of nine would have as many as 5 (that i've witnessed personally) seats take the first hand and then begin "SITTING OUT".
i'd like to see SC put the limit on "SITTING OUT" and remove chips from play that do not see a given number of hands in play; perhaps 27 (three blinds). anyone else tired of this sham ?

aces- usually early in cash tournaments you have several agreesive players who seem to have a hand all the time according to the way they're betting. My choice is to fold most of these hands. Rather than sit here hitting fold every round I will sit-out even though I am actually watching the table, I don't see any problem with this.
Well this is suppose to be practice for live poker and they don't stop people from sitting out in the casinos!!! Its the players choice to lay their hands how they feel fit and if sitting out is their choice, Who are you or I to tell them they can't play the way they see fit???
We originally had this rule. If you sat out more than 29 hands you were removed from the tournament. Why this was removed is unclear. It has been brought up that in a B&M tourney you are not removed until you run out of chips. What should be fixed is that a sit-out all-in player can win a hand. This is a rather irksome glitch in the software.

no restrictions on sit outs, there are simply to many reasons for players to sit and they are all good. Not only should it be a right to sit all u want, it is also your right to play like u want. I think u will find that this is why so many sit early, because they dont like the players playing. There are also many players who have personal and or medical needs that require them to miss play. Personally, if my wife wants sex, I dont think about how long Im sittin out. I get back by permission.
