I've really enjoyed reading all these stories of how everyone got their nicknames. I'm from Deadwood, SD and Demon is my flame-point Himalayan - my original avatar pic is of him. Sometimes I use pics of a heart or spades that suit my demon image.

The first place I played online was iwon and I used my middle name monserrate .People called me mon and miss divine because of my sense of humor, loyal friendships and ability to deal with jerks without cussing at them I used monmissdivine at all poker sites cept its too long for some so monmiss.

...And they have been calling me mistershifty ever since. The nickname fits my persona and table image perfectly, so there you go. My current avatar is Jughead laughing, to demonstrate that I take very little seriously in poker, or life in general.

I was accosted by a neo nazi biker psycho outside a bar in California while talking with a friend and minding my own business. He lunged at me, grabbed me by my shirt collar, pointed at my face and exclaimed-"Have you all seen a shiftier motherf*cker in all your life? I should punch you in the face just for being mister godd*mn shifty!!!" He laughed and put me down, I gathered my dignity off the floor and slinked away. My name come from a nick name I have had a long time. I have always collected Crystals, rocks, gemstones since I can remember. they call me The CrystalLdy cuz I have so many of them~My avatar was picked out by my daughter, she says I look like this tiger when staring down an oppenent. I also LOVE white tigers.

Mine is acually my last name, its German and pronounced man-ah-min. I use it because growing up people always pronounced it Maine-man, so I use it on-line because people have no clue what it means. Some think its because I'm from Maine, and others think its because of my long hair (mane). But its simply just my name. My avatar is me and my wife at a wedding reception. I always had a fascination with those steel balls on the strings that clack back and forth. Somehow everyone thinks my name means something else. A dealer in a bar poker league announced he was calling me IQ.Arghhh! Noone wants that. A savy woman at the table countered rapidly with, "good idea, we'll call her Irish Queen. Since I'm Irish and live in an Hispanic world, the name seemed right to everyone and it stuck.

I'm a collector of 80's and 90's rock bands and Steve Vai put together a remarkable band of teenagers, the oldest of the four was 16. They was not your normal teenager band, they rocked and their songs were good enough for radio play. For their age, they were ahead of their time. They were good enough for Steve Vai to put the band together and produce their record.
So I thought this would be a great poker screen name because this band really was Bad4Good. My avatar was just a lucky find:)
