Loose Donk against A Game...lol

By CHILLSHOT
Feb 02, 09 04:03 PM

Tell 1 tell all.
When is it OK to be a Loose Donk?
When should you bring your A Game?

Quite simple.
If you're playing in a tournament that doesn't pay out much, then it's ok to play like a Loose Donk.
If you're playing in a tournament that pays out nicely, then you should bring your A Game.

It's not how much you paid to get in the tourney...it's how much you could get paid when you WIN!!

Nail on head, alig! If I get sucked out big time on the bubble I might tilt in another game if I am multi-tabling - in a 20 or 50. But I won't tilt in a big one. Everybody tilts, even the very best. No need to excuse it as donking it up.

Much respect for your game CHILL.... but I disagree. Why develope bad habits of playing loose just because the payout is weak. I always try to make the best possible decisions in any tournament.

It is ok to donk it up a bit in a low payout tourney - but it's still better to play your A game. Downtown is 6th in the SPOY race - mostly from success in bigger tourneys but also partly from a great run in the $10 turbos - it is best to play your A game at all times but if you are going to donk it up a bit or play loose unfocussed then yes, the smaller payout tourneys are the best place to do it.

I agree and I'll admit in the 10 buck turbos I also sometimes donk it up several notches. The In-or-out mentality. It's easy to do in these freerolls, and many do.

I would never try that with any buy-in MTTs though..

I love the competition in the monthly 30k's though. I noticed a lot less bingo play and saw fewer donks there. I just played my 2nd one last night. I played that one very tight aggressive and tossed away my donkey gear. I only finished 208th (76th in my 1st one).
