Time to take the soap box.
Durring the final table of the Cyprus VIP turny. An SC member, who will remain nameless, was heared to say that..."None of these players will last 2 hr. in the Cyprus Classic."
I called the individual on it saying that regardless of what they thought of the current players skills, that as an SC member we should support them and not be a jerk by saying such things to thier faces. The individual then started spouting off phrases like "Freedom of Speach" and so forth, which is all well and good but has nothing to do with the situation at hand.
All I'm sayin is that its becoming frightening that as a community we still have those who feel thay have to spread thier negativity and contempt.
Didn't your mama ever teach you that if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all?
Win or loose I for one look forward to hearing from the winner about thier experiance and wish them the best of luck.
You may now return to your regularly scheduled programing.

I didn't see final table but I have a good idea who make those comments. Curses people out and when has blogs deleted invokes freedom of speech violated, too funny.
Most players on SC are very respectful of one another. Most of those who mouth off cannot accecpt the fact the seem to get beat more often than most. They never think it might be they are not very good players,I have been on SC since 02/08/2008 and the more players SC signs up the more chance for rude and abvsive players at the tables.Ignore them it will drive them nutz LOL. No one has ever won a tourney without some luck ever,so enjoy the good friends you will make, ignore the Donks and the un c
Well, I was on that final table, went out a very disappointed 2nd place. The winner, Calladin, played extremely well, he deserves our support and respect. I think the real issue with the game is, at that point in the tourney, the blinds & antes will eat you up. Very little play is allowed under the current structure. It absolutely becomes an all-in fest. No one looks good under this structure. Naive and inexperienced players (ok, I am trying to be nice) may have a hard time understanding t
Very true - and at that stage of a tourney if everyone plays their A game then it's down to the cards and nothing more. And if they make a mistake they make a mistake - hell the pros do it on TV. There is no need for that kind of trash talk. And it should never be defended. Oh well.
It is always the players that never make a final table that talk trash about SC. The ones at the final tables are just playing cards. You know what I mean.
I too saw that SC member spoutting off on the final table. If he/she were speaking of me, which they wern't, it would have been so true! I was in the top 15 and only been playing poker since August..ever!! I've never played even in real life. I've only been watching Poker After Dark and reading books. Now that would have made a story if I had won! It was, however, quite rude of that individual not to support the final table members. They all did a great job to have made it so far. I hop

I also agree... sometimes I even get upset at how some folks play .... to the point they even ticks me off ... lol... but still gives one no right to be abusive or talk trash at anyone... I have had some call me names all the way to the B word... They don't even know me.. I am sure I have made mistakes at the table.. I am still learning the game .. so maybe those who talk hateful will one day open their eyes and look at them own selves.. Have a wonderful week.. GL...
