Jerk's aren't just online Part 1
By DonkeyFearAug 30, 08 09:50 AM

About a month ago I was in at the Atlantic City Borgata, I ran into the biggest jerk I have ever seen in 26 years of playing poker.
We got down to 20 players and the tournament paid 18 (This was a $100 + 20, so one of their smaller events). People started talking about creating a bubble pool. Everyone kicks in $10 and 19th and 20th get $100 each. Well, there was one hold out (whom I will dub Mr. White Shirt).
White Shirt refuse to get in the pool. "No Problem" I said, we came up with $190 that gives 19th and 20th $95 each. Another player whom I had met that day (and we always seemed to get the same table changes, so we had played the entire tourney together) named Jack looks at me and says "Only an A**hole wouldn't take that deal". and hence the stage was set.
White Shirt had a few words with Jack about his comment and we settled down to play.
I would say about 5 minutes go by and and I get AK under the gun. With the blinds of 2-4K and a stack of 40K, I raise to 12K. If folds around to White Shirt who is on the button. He goes into the tank and grabs a stack of chips and moving them around.
I avoid looking at him to try to prevent giving him any tells.
Jack suddenly says, "you crossed your cards, that is a call". The floor was called over and the dealer confirmed he crossed his cards with a stack of about 35K. He was forced to put the chips in, so of course I move all-in and he calls.
I turn up my AK and he turns up A-10 and says "dealer, put a 10 up his A**". The floor immediately says you have a 10 hand penalty. He starts to aggressively plead his case and the floor says "You want to make it 20, you got 20". Well things settle down, my AK holds up and he walks away with a 10 hand penalty.
I look at Jack and said "You have been playing with me all day, you knew I had him crushed didn't you?". He smiles and says "Yes, but I would have felt bad had he sucked out on you".
White shirt returns and is allowed to play his button (which I question because he played his button on the hand when presented with a penalty. That is only 9 hands to me).
