Check It Down

By Dooley

I still don't understand why some people are unwilling to check down when someone is all in. I opt to check it down unless I know I have the nuts and the person all in is going out. I'd much rather lose the hand and have the person all in go out; than have someone push a person out that might be able to take that person out. You never know... the person you helped stay in might be the one that takes you out later. In a tournament it's better to have someone go out and everyone move up; than win a small side pot or no side pot, and keep some guy who's on the mat in. Well that's my 2 cents for today.

Seems to boil down to:

Do you want more chips?
or
Do you want fewer players?

I'll take the chips.
