GamingReview's Interests

POKER GAMES:
I was a 7-Stud player for 30 years, but with the Hold'em Craze sweeping the country I played it seriously for the first time in November 2004. I cashed in my first live tourney at Binion's the night before my Las Vegas wedding and then started online.
POKER PLAYERS:
My biggest thrill was felting Hall of Famer Barbara Enright in 2008. I have also played against Linda Johnson, John Cernuto, Kathy Liebert, Hans Lund, Billy Baxter, Gavin Griffen, Jennifer Tilly, Kenna James, JJ Liu, "Hollywood Dave" and Jimmy Woods.
LUCKY POKER HANDS:
For some reason the 6 - 9 seems to hold up more than it should, so it has become a superstitious hand for me and play it if it does not cost much. The A - K seems to knock me out of more tourneys, but the A - Q costs me more money than any other hand.
CASINOS:
To see my reviews on Brick and Mortar poker rooms across the country and around the world, visit Poker Insider Magazine (http://www.PokerInsider.ORG) and for reviews of online poker rooms please visit Gaming Review Online (http://www.GamingReview.ORG).
ACTIVITIES:
Editor of Poker Insider Magazine, Home of THE INSIDE SCOOP (http://www.PokerInsider.ORG) and Gaming Review Online (http://www.GamingReview.ORG). My wife and I travel extensively and I play poker whereever we go in the US and Internationally.
MOVIES:
All movies dealing with Poker. All In, Rounders, Cincinatti Kid and Cool Hand Luke. Hopefully, my screenplay will someday be on the big or small screen. Poker is only a minor element in the story, but it ties the timeframes and characters together.
TV SHOWS:
As a former Military Policeman, Military Intelligence Officer, Body Guard and Private Investigator I enjoy the crime genre shows, such as CSI and Law & Order.
BOOKS:
I have written the book "Winning Blue Collar Hold'em," for low stakes players. It covers starting hands, position and betting. Am working on 2 new books, That's Poker, Folks and Living on Jacks and Queens: Poker According to Maverick.
MUSIC:
I have eclectic tastes from classical to light rock to my favorite, which is country.
POKER PLAYLIST:
Maverick Theme.
QUOTES:
"This game is Poker, not Solitaire." Doyle Brunson. "Gambling is the grand metaphor of life. In 1/2 hour, you have all the things that happen in life. All the struggle, all the victims, the catastrophes, everything.” Gonzolo Pelayo. Any Pokerism.
