I've done a comparison of (what I think) are the three largest subscription poker sites...while I agree with GoldCoast that it would be nice (and advisable) to payout the top 8-10%, SpadeClub still has the best payout structure...two other places (that I won't mention) have a payout only for first place in their lower tables ($10 to $20), while here we have payout for top three...if it wasn't for that, I would have no money right now! Still, I hope that SC will be just a little more liberal bec

Points - PLAY BETTER and WISER
By GoldCoastJul 04, 08 02:44 PM

OK, OK, wow, some much crying about being required to play better over points.
If poker was supposed to be easy then ANYONE could do it, play better AND wiser.
In the Point Builder I – 10 point buy-in. Before top 49 paid, 49-28 got 10 points, 27-19 20.
NOW – Top 27 pay, 27-19 get 40 points.
Same new structure for the PB II.
Still, if there are 100 players, you need ONLY finish in top 27%, please, is this so hard?
So, will this new structure cause some smaller fields? It MAY make players play better?
If YOU really want to complain, perhaps the money game pay-out structure.
Take for instance a typical 500 nightly.
400-500 players, pays top 18.
With 400 players this is only the top 4.5%. With 400 people the money should be 8-10%, 32-40 places, reducing top pay-outs and redistributing accordingly.
Many complain about the large number of bad beats, look here as one cause, you gotta play like an idiot early, good solid poker play gets you nowhere.
Complain, yes, BUT maybe complain where it is warranted?

I prefer the tighter point payout personally. This will cause players to play better or they will play fewer tournaments. As the size of the membership base grows do you seriously want a 1000 person field for a $20 hourly? Either you will have a freaking zoo initially or an 8 hour tourney, or likely a bit of both. Well, I have to take that back. Being a non-point charging tourney we will get that anyway. But for the $500 nightlies, that is what is coming.
