Hey there! Indoor gyms are OK, but soooo boring compared to the real thing! The closest one I now of is in Cooperstown, 90 minutes away, and it's next to a pool. Literally. So it's hot, wet and steamy, and all the swimmers get to watch you climb. The wall is only about 30 ft high. I went there once & that was enough. Besides, it's only cold when you stop climbing, and ice is so much more fun than rock! ;) take care and GL, Susanne

Sounds like a great road trip you have planned! Here's a must-do in Glacier: start up the Highline Trail from Logan Pass (across from the Visitor's Center). You won't have to go too far for some incredibly stunning views. You'll think you died and went to heaven without leaving the pavement, but trust me, a sort walk is beyond even heaven. :) Also check out Babb on the east side of the park, just off the Blackfoot rez. Have some wonderful memories of climbing in the Winds and Tetons (the former is my favorite, fewer crowds), the Big Horns, South Pass, Green River Country (caught in a MASSIVE thunderstorm there once, that was memorable lol!) and lastly, Yellowstone. I used to housesit quite a lot in MT at my friends' lodge near Glacier, and still do sometimes. It's beautiful country but WYO is right up there. Happy holidays to you

thanks for comment on my blog, yes me and my gf are ok, it was just a crazy day, seems like it wasnt real, we see stuff on tv like the columbine high school shooting and vaginia tech shoting and just other shootings in general and you never think it would happen where you are atmuch less a place we work and should be safe at as in our own military base.
