Computer Security

Somone responded to a blog, citing a TV show that stated that company executives could log onto their gaming site and be able to see all players hole cards. That is possible, but highly unlikely. Even primative security systems require you to be a "super user" and even that doesn't mean you can see hole cards.
When gaming sites are government regulated, security standards, similar to high security government standards will be required.
Can they be hacked. Yes, but the cost would be very high. UB was not hacked. The original programmers left a "back door".
My suggestion to the gaming industry is to set up a joint "security standards" committee. Establish their own rules and auditing standards, rather than let the government do it for them. Then they could give a "Good Housekeeping Seal of Approval" to sites.
We did this in the computer industry and it worked quite well.

Hey Queen. So, are u a retired computer programmer? So am I. How would u like to move to Las Vegas and see if you can help fix some of the SW problems here at SC?

50 years later, I still haven't managed to retire. Nowadays they pay me a lot for my mouth. Since I have no need of their money, I get to say it like it is. What a concept! As a result, I've made many companies successful. I think SC, like many companies, just wants to reinvent the wheel. Besides, Vegas in the summer, makes Miami in the summer seem like Alaska. But, thanks anyway.
