Winning Tournament Poker

To make money and points on Spadeclub requires an understanding of poker, odds, and math. You also have to understand the thoughts of your competitors, which greatly changes the amounts you bet, call, or raise in different tournaments.

You have to play cash tournaments differently than point tournaments. I have been on Spadeclub less than a month and won money and have plenty of points to play all I want. Points were really easy for me to earn, the money was and is much harder and really different.

Let me know what you think?

Wow, I sure sound like I know it all and that is not how I wanted to come accross. This was just the first installment, so here is my first update. I am still trying to use math and pot odds. I have made a couple more final tables and am still winning more money than SpadeClub costs me. Hope that can hold out.

Winning a tournament is my next goal. I have won a couple of point builders, but just not the same. I also agree that there sure are a lot of players that way over bet compared to how I play. I also see alot of people get mad at them. Yes, they beat me sometimes too, but I do beat them also. I have found so far that if I can get in with the best hand, I win more lose.

Also why do so many people here min-raise all the time? What is the percentage in that?

Let me know what you think?

After two full months of playing I have four cashes equaling $81.00 and a cost of $21.00. Looking forward to month number three. Many comments said that math and realitively tight play would not work at SpadeClub. We will see, please comment!

I would agree with you, but if you come here and play your game the way you would at a live poker table. Or at a money site you will not have long term success. The game needs to be adapted to the low risk players on the site. Meaning play more aggressively later in the hand, and try to avoid getting your money in preflop etc.

I think I give you another month or so. The competitors (so called) have no thoughts. It's raise or all in on any two cards because they usually hit. Just ride it out.
