Whats Up with the Haters ?...

I'm writing this becuz last night I took a little verbal lashing from some guy. All becuz he went all in w/Q-9os and I called w/A-9suited. We split the pot becuz we got a straight. He then went off on me for callin his bet. He went on and on getting personal,making comments about my personal appearance, all I wanna know is why ? Do some people feel better when they attack somebody personally ? I just cant understand the reasoning behind this kind of action. I just smiled at first,then kindly asked him to leave me alone.
So I just smiled and turned off my chat,and removed my picture.

So keep Smilin...No need to hate its not good for anyone...

Matesow and Hellmuth make for good TV, but the truth is it actually shows how little control you have over your own emotion. Some players go off like Tony G as a way to intimidate others making them NOT want to contest a pot with them. Can you imagine how these people you are refering to would act if real money was at stake?

this guy might be gay because ur pic is hot,, i hate to see his type of girl if he thinks ur ugly,anyways ur stats are good almost a final table per 1k in hands ,mine is about 800 hands per final table ,u will be in the top spoy players in no time. gl n just let ur stats and play do the talking.

This is way too common and a sad commentary on our society where a small percentage of ignorant inbreds ruin it for the majority.

Reminds me of a memorable exchange between my hero and mentor, Doyle Brunson and Patrik Atonius at a final table.

Doyle (33) calls Patrk's(AJo) all-in and takes the pot of over 8.5 million with a full house. Patrik says to Doyle, "How can you make that call?" Doyle's classic and now legednary response:

I have wondered about this myself. I can't think of any other sort competition that brings out this nastiness in people. I think it has more to do with their own self-image than anthing else. And when someone takes them down it invalidates that image and they NEED to lash out in order to convince themselves it was just a fluke. I think this phenomon would make a great study for doctrinal thesis
