I just don't get it
By MsCheckRaiseOct 22, 08 01:39 AM

I thought everyone here was an adult. If this is the case, then why is it that some of these ADULTS feel the need to call other people names and/or make fun of them after losing a hand? This is poker people, someone has to lose. That is the way games work (apparently that hasn't been made clear to some people) I would hope that these people would never act this way in a live game, I just don't understand why they think its okay to do it here. I guess sitting at a computer and typing nasty things to strangers makes them feel better about themselves and that makes me sad. But we pay to play here and should not have to deal with that nonsense. So I will end with a suggestion to all of those who can't take their losses like big boys and girls...PLEASE go play somewhere else, your not welcome here.

I agree with you, it is not needed or welcomed but it happens and not only online but I've seen it at tables too. It's just a game but on the other hand is it? I've never heard of anyone being shot over monopoly or candyland...
I wil admit playing on this site almost exclusively has spoiled me a bit from my usual online experience. It is refreshing to play here as it is generally a more polite group. That being said, when you reach nearly 10k in numbers there will be some bad apples in the bunch. It is still better than your average online site but really not necessary. And yes, it does happen in live play - it's just more entertaining to watch because you get to see the temper tantrum in person.
You're absolutely correct! What really gets me is the people who applaud each other, telling the player who got knocked out or thought he suffered a "bad beat" that he\she is correct for abusing the players\table etc... Even players who 'I' thought were well respected or 'good' players. This is a great community but these people are not behaving properly and should be penalized!
just my 0.000002 c/ \/
Unfortunantely, as in life there are nice people and rude people. I wouldn't waste my precious time getting upset over goofy stuff. Smile when it happens and be glad u aren't that pathetic.
to those that play crappy hands and then luck out due to the "random" number generator PLEASE go play somewhere else, your not welcome here.
obviously you dont play live poker....it happens everywhere....like it or not...its become part of the game....just watch any wsop or wpt event on tv tonight if you do not believe
oh i believe. i watched phil hellmuth make a fool out of himself berating others people at the main event. just bc it happens doesn't make it okay. thats the message i'm trying to get across.
Good post!
Two things... First, it's a lot easier to be nasty when you are sitting behind a computer..
Second, it is unfortunate but people see some of the pros acting like idiots and they copy them....Poker is supposed to be a gentleman's game....too many jerks that don't know how to behave...hang in there... most people are nice.
