Auto Play Mode

Auto play mode is when you are just acting on hands without thinking. This happens to me every so often. It takes me a few loosing sessions to realize it. I try to review hands that I lost too much money on to see if I can figure out why I played it the way I did. I curse myself “I knew that he had to fill up when the board paired on the river and he checked raised me!” When I catch myself playing in Auto Play mode I stop playing that game (in this case PLO) and switch to another game. Switching to a new game helps your brain to start thinking again and not just acting. You have to watch every card, every hand, and every player. This time I am switching to Stud. Two big keys to Stud are always paying total attention and not chasing past 4th street. Throw away the marginal hand without paying the big bet. Watch the dead cards and know how live your hand is. If you have 3 spades on 4th street but 4 other spades are out don’t draw. Look for my interesting stud hands here for discussion in the coming weeks.

We now have a couple stud point builder tournaments everyday. Give them a try to get started on the game and let me know what you think of 7 card stud.

Goods luck at the tables,
SCKenny

I have been playing with the express fold, I saved a few hands like 23 54 67 78 98, to name a few and it has made me think about my position and make better calls and folds. Even with premium hands. I have noticed I get side tracked and don`t pay attention to the table as much. So I miss out on taking notes on how people play. I do love the feature it has helped my game. oxoxoxx

if every player were to stay until the end the final round (7th street or river) would be dealt face-up in the middle of the table as a community card.

Thanx Kenny. I guess it worked. Doing real poor at Holdem so I played a PLO point builder and came in 2nd.

Drinking too much, or playing too many tables, overconfidence, can all put you in this mode.

Btw, what happens in stud if all 8 players stay in until the river or any other scenario which causes more than 52 cards to be dealt?

The new stud games are pretty cool. Haven't played in years and am enjoying getting back into it.

What about a daily H.O.R.S.E. tourney? Maybe just a $100 daily. I need to practice up on stud and razz though.
