Ask Kenny: Is SpadeClub a Good Place to Learn?
By SCKennyAug 26, 08 04:03 PM

Kenny,
I am new to the game. Is paying a monthly fee to learn a good choice. If so what are the quick benefits of a monthly fee as opposed to the deposits?
Thanks,
Tama

Hi Tama,
Welcome to the Club, as a new player I think that you’ll do much better here then on a site where you’d have to use your real money every time you want to play.
On SpadeClub there are many benefits to being an Exclusive member both for new and old players that you do not see on other sites. For starters you can learn a lot by listening to what other member have to say. Just go to the community page and read a few blogs and you can learn a lot about another players strategy. Also, our great community will always be there to help you. If you are every confused about why you lost (or won) a hand just ask in the chat box at the table and someone will be sure to help you out.
The best way to learn to player poker is of course by playing. On SpadeClub you can play in as many tournaments as you want for a low monthly fee. You will learn poker by playing and seeing many more hands and situations then you would on a deposit site.
On other deposit sites each time you lose your money you’ll have to deposit more. As a new player you don’t want to risk your hard earned cash just to gain the experience you need to improve. Here you can play in thousands of tournaments, sit and gos and play money games every month and never lose. Also any money you win on SpadeClub will stay your winnings since you will never need to use the money you won to buy into another tournament.
If experience isn't enough for you lets look at the cost of playing tournaments elsewhere. On deposit sites an entry fee is taken out of the buy-in for each tournament. Lets say you start out by playing $11 sit and gos. That's not that much money and your buy-in contributes to a prize pool you could potentially win back. However you're paying $11 to enter the tournament with $1 going straight to the site and $10 going to the prize pool. Once you play in 20 tournaments you've already hit the $20 a month you'd pay here but on SpadeClub you have the opportunity to play thousands of tournaments for that same price. Also, those 20 tournaments only have a potential prize pool of $1,800 ($10 X 9 people per tournament X 20 tournaments) For the same price you'll be able to play for prize pools totaling more than $100,000 on SpadeClub. Now that's a bargain!
Overall, on SpadeClub, you can learn and earn with no risk, and remember you always have me to help. Just send in any questions you have and I’ll explain and give advice and we can help make you the best player you can be.
Good luck at the tables,
SCKenny

I couldnt say it all in 500 characters, so I bloged it. Besides blogging is just one of the perks.....
I cannot begin to tell you what SC has done for me. The site and the people have taught me so much, I have learned alot. I can definitely say I have improved 110% since being here and hope to keep improving. I definitely recommend learning here, there are some great players here.
Hi Tama,
I usually never post on blogs but I have to tell you my experience here. I had never been a member on any site until I found the SpadeClub ad on CradPlayer last December. My brother taught me how to play on a site he was a member on but I couldn't see paying for each tournament I wanted to enter when I was still learning and had no experience at all. SpadeClub was the perfect site for me to learn without it costing me to enter each game.
I can honestly say that I learned to play h

HI! I have played on about fifteen pay sites, but rarely play anywhere but here. Ive made money here, and the players are really nice chat-wise. even low buy-in games on most pay sites are filled with maniacs with more money than brains. ya have to go up tho the $100 buy in range to get serious players. although ya see some weird stuff here, overall the play is pretty decent!
