I live in a US state where online gambling has been outlawed (not that it stops some people). And the nearest real card room is 2.5 hours away. Although I have to say, there is no lack of poker tournaments held for charity in this area. But you can afford to plunk down only so many buy-ins a week if you are not a professional at it... which I sadly, am not.

So what to do?

SpadeClub to the rescue! I have been a member for only 2 days, and already I am a huge fan of the site. It might help that on the very first night I managed to place first in a $20 dollar daily. That may actually be the biggest field (212) that I have ever defeated... online or off.
I have found that the level of play here is great and it's nice to be able to win cash without putting down a whole lot of money. A good player can win back the $20 a month it costs to be a member... and then some. Maybe you won't win enough money on this site to allow you to quit your job and be a professional, but ask "isuckatpoker" what he thinks about winning $10000 for only $20 a month!!

One thing I'd like to see is SpadeClub hats or t-shirts given out as prizes in addition to cash/points/tokens in select tournaments. I'd proudly wear one.
