I could not put this book down.

One of a Kind: The Rise and Fall of Stuey ’,The Kid’, Ungar, The World’s Greatest Poker Player

I could not put this book down.

This book was a lot of fun to read and very interesting. Once I started reading it I could not put it down. If you have been reading a lot of poker books you will enjoy this book. This book is an easy read compared to the poker strategies books. It is full of people in the poker world that were involved with Stu in one way or another. People like Mike Saxton and Doyle Brunson that tried to stop Stu Unger from his destructive path. This is a very interesting and sad story. Buy this book and read it. I think you like it.

when i read this book I was mad when the last page came up.I wanted the book to be 100 more pages.I used to have a poker radio show and have interviewed most of the big names and always asked them about Stuey. His ability to surmize the situation in a hand in a fraction of a second is legendary..he would float a hand before anyone knew what a float was and somehow knew exactly how much it would take to get a player off his hand. But all the other parts of his life were in shambles.Sad

the real point I think is that he played such brilliant poker despite being so messed up. My guess is that on any given day of all the poker players in Vegas between the ages of 21-30, at least 40% of them are dealing with the same issues, but not playing nearly as well.
