My playstyle

I do not follow the accepted rules of playing poker. I have tried to, I really have. When I do, I lose or come close to it. Therefore, I have developed my own style of playing NLTH. I am now starting to win more consistently.

What I find interesting is the type of person who tries to tell me how I should play. This, is usually just after I win a nice pot from them.

Now, I ask you... if everyone follows the same exact rules of poker, everyone would know what the other guy has and nobody would have fun. I win on the river? Yep, lots. I should not have called J6 off? I had about 4000 chips, and on the flop, get J6 (something). Then I get another 6 on the turn, I then bet around 2k,, and the table "professional" calls. The river is a small card.... I then go all in and the pro calls... with something... I can't even remember what he had. I win and he then starts telling me that the J6 was a bad call. I was nice and didn't say much.
A couple of hands later, I had Q10 off and raised to 100 or so. the flop was QQ10, and I bet around 2k. The Professional goes all in and of course I do too. You can imagine how he then started again and tried to tell me that I was a bad player. I mentioned that my playstyle seems to be winning, and then after a few more choice "attempts to make me see the light" I advised the table that I was turning chat off.

I of course turned chat back on after a few more hands. In retrospect, I should not have.

I will say, he was an ok player, except for his arrogance and seeming immaturity. His comments struck me as rather immature and so I asked him to not act in such a manner. That went over ... well... not nicely.

So, folks, if I win a hand or a table or a tournament, then I win. It's my playstyle. ok?

As always, comment what you want, I don't moderate anyone's posts.

I'm sorry.

This is hard to say my friends (or not friends), but I have not been a good person lately. I hope you can forgive me for my transgressions. What follows is an apology to those I've insulted and not an excuse, but an explanation.

Yes, I have insulted people. For this, I humbly beg your forginess. What I can say is that I'm starting to... well, lose it. I'm 54 now. I am a network and server engineer. I was also the Data Center Manager for a majpr state agency. I am currently the Systems Administrator for a major transportaton agency.

I have been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. It is currently unilateral, which means only one hand is currently exibiting the usual tremor.although my left hand is starting to exhibit some twitches during moments of relaxation.

Pretty bad, right? No.

I have started to have short term memory loss. I used to be so good at tech support that when I was the Lead Support Engineer for Creative Labs, I did not have to even look at a manual or support document. I would take the hardest casts from the support personnel and just rattle off what the customer was seeing and then fix the problem. That was about 25 years ago.

Now... I have a hard time telling the difference between a spade and a club. I get irritable because I feel so damned useless. Last week I was sitting at my desk and could not remember what I was working on. This week I was working on a SQL server and had to get a team member to help me fix a problem that I could have fixed 20 years ago. I just could not remember the sequence of actions necessary to correct the problem.

Please forgive me. I care for the rest of the human race. I honestly do. I have a sense of honor that rivals that of King Arthur and Sir Galahad. I have tainted that honor lately and can only hope for your forgivness.

OMG, ZOMBIES ATE MY BRAIN!!!

This one is a rant against the few true Zombies out there. Yoy know who you are and I'm also amassing a list of you. What's a Zombie, you ask? It's that jerkoff that hits the table, does 2-3 all-in's to build a chip stack, then checks "Sit Out" and never comes back. That way, if it's a fast table, he gets Second place by default. This exploit is unfair and I am asking SC to fix it and have already sent in several comments on ways to fix this.

Die Zombies, DIE

The Care and Feeding of Donks

I love it when I beat a "professional poker player" with a hand that they thought was somehow not supposed to beat them. Then later in the game, they win with the exact same had that I was called a donk for, but then it was their uber poker skiils and keen grasp of the intricities of Poker that allowed them to win.

I'll probably add more later.
It's later:
Ok, I can see the reason for the anger... I was in the 4th hand of a $1000 Saturday tourney, I got A4h for the pocket, bet accordingly, then the flop was that magical 235. Yep, got the straight on the flop. All In of course, due to the betting being weak. The turn and river did nothing. So hey.. got this one, right? No, a FAT FREEKIN COW had called and played 64 off. Rage? that's a rather mild description for what I was feeling.
