Cut Throat Poker

It seems that everyone has started playing CUT THROAT...
You Play Good Poker for an hour or more Not going in to deep making good calls and folding at the right time. You have built a chip pile to about twice the average and feeling good about your position. You get moved from table to table and end up on one where the high chip holder has about 3times the amount you do. All is going well you get a straight high on the flop and thinking ok this one is mine. You raise 200 twice the BB and get called by 3 after most fold. The turn does not hurt you although now there’s a pair of Kings on the board. Thinking ok… one of the others could now have 3 of a kind your straight is still looking good. So your raise 400 to be called by one and now it is heads up. Here comes the river it is a 10 now it is possible that each of us as a straight. Thinking this you make a substantial raise of 1,000 to be raised by an ALL IN by the guy with 3 times your chip amount. Knowing you have a strong hand and thinking we both have the high straight you make the call. OOPS! He had the full house and now not only did I lose but now I am out of the game. Don’t get me wrong I do not mind losing… But to be raised by 3 time my chip amount is un called for… he could have called my 1,000 or even raised me a 1,000 and still won a good size pot with out totally taking me out. On the other hand if I would have went ALL IN and he called me and took me out that is different… Funny part is… I have watch a few of these CUT THROAT players… and they have not yet made it to the final table… Good Luck to All hope to see at the tables.

Uncle Beef I have a beef with this one! Also, I recommend pulling this one down! If someone can get paid off, they should always go for it! There is no cut throat player that I see here. He had a chance to get paid and he did. Extract all the money you can, ALWAYS. A value bet isbasically betting as much as you think your opponent will pay you! It's always about getting as much as you can. I over bet the nuts here alot as people tend to pay off. LIve I switch up. You're still cool tho

Umm you are kidding right? I have never seen a successful player in this game that wasn't cut throat. You have to be able to go in for the kill with the best hand. This game is all about maximizing your winnings and minimizing your losses. If someone who has you outchipped pushes enough to put you all in, that isn't mean. That is just how this game is played. If you don't like it I suggest you try Checkers, just avoid chess as someone will try to kill your king.

Actually, I've been at a few final tables. Just haven't been cut throat enough yet to be the last woman standing.

If it helps at all, I felt bad for you. I thought for sure the all-in would make you fold.

I don't think that you can be called Unclebeef anymore. How about Uncletofu. Your blog is one of the most insane things I have heard in a long time. The whole point here is to defeat the enemy. And enemy is everyone at your table including the dealer. There is no Geneva convention in poker. Understand OB

UNCLEBEEF letting off steam is 1 thing. But making a point? You start a tourney with so many chips in every players hand. And the poin of the game is to end up with all those chips in your hand. There is no rewards for giving some1 a another hand to get back into the tourney. Its a cut throat game. You called and cut your own throat. GOAL be last 1 standing Not have all the chips but 1 chip for your opponent.

Sorry Beef, but your rationale regarding big stack beeting is a little off.I agree there are too many newbie DONKS that go all-in with ATC and hope to double or triple up early on,most of them never make a final table, which is a good thing. This is a game of last man standingand not betting the nutz will cost you in the long run.Its not fun to get busted ,but thats the game.Timing is everything and assessing your opponents hand is the most important skill to have. Why is he still calling my bets ?

Thanks to everyone again that hs commented. It is plain that most of you missed exactly what I was saying. I admit am new to SC but not New to Poker. I win my share have not got the money or trophies yet... But that is just a matter of time. When I need a Red/Blue Token I get it... And I do it without playing "CUT THROAT"...You will find me at the Red/Blue money games.

Good Luck to all..see ya at the tables,
Beef

Umm, seriously, and REALLY trying not to be rude here, but why are you even playing poker? To have fun? Street Fighter II is fun, poker is about winning and making money in any ethical way possible. As much money as possible. Anyone down for a game of UNO at my house this sunday instead of playing online?

Beef, I would still take you out, however the only thing I would do different is to make the bet the same size as your remaining chips or slide the scale thing over to where it is just over what you have left. Every player that is taken out of the game brings me one step closer to the FT and hopefully getting 1st.
