Responding to bad play!!!

By YesIHaveIt
Apr 23, 08 08:01 AM

If it's OK to make a bad play and knock someone out after they have played well for over 2 hours, then shouldn't you have the right to be frustrated? Why are we not able to speak our minds and blow off some steam?
Maybe if we were allowed to say what's on our minds (within reason) then the idiots that make these plays might think twice about it the next time. I just want to know why we are policed like children at church. Is it blasphemy to let a curse out now and then? Saying that was a BS call is not a good enough reason to warn someone about their chat priviledges!!!
I am referrring to myself in this of course. I was warned because I went off on someone in a condesceding manner because after 2 hours of play this moron (whom I will not name) decides that after the flop of 3 8 J he will risk 93% of his stack to see if he can suckout. I had K J suited and raised preflop and nailed my J so I pushed the action with top pair. How after 2 hours do you look yourself in the mirror and say if I lose on this I am OK with it. Either way the turn comes which is of course an Ace so he sucks out and sends me packing.
To this moronic play I respond FU!!! That was the closest thing to a swear that I used. I was actually referring to the turn card whether it was taken like that or not. Arguing followed between both of us, so I decided to look up his stats and put him in his place. 14, 468 hands played, 162 bounties, and 0 (ZERO) final tables!!! That says to me that this guy doesn't have a clue. So I gave him one free of charge. Suffice it to say he reported me for my FU and I was warned. The warning was for offending people at the table.
I returned the warning with a report of my own. I stated that I too was offended by this mans actions at the table and I felt he needed to be warned about his play or his play would be temporarily be suspended. I think SC support actually got a kick out of my response. I also told them that I was going to report every single BS, FU, LMAO, POS, SMD, and any other swear or abbreviated curse that I see. Just wanted to let them know that they would have a full mailbox.
Sorry for the longwinded piece here, but I am still frustrated that we as adults cannot just deal with the plays we make. If I make a stupid call and suckout I EXPECT someone to remind me how stupid it really was. Not just go away and say nh, gg, gl all. The only way to turn donkeys into real players is to help them learn. I am not saying that I want everyone to make great calls every time, but evening out the play would make this an even better place to play. I love having suckers at the table but I hate losing to idiots!
See you at the tables!

It's a game of bad beats and drawouts... we all know... and it sure stings when you're on the receiving end... but i try to remember my bonehead plays that i've sucked out on, and it dulls the pain somewhat... by the way, when I've felted someone on a stupid play i know how lucky i got and nobody has to tell me that i was a luck donk

Come on, apologize. Brett would be proud of you.

At this point I also have 20,000 points, 3 Red Tokens and a 1 Blue one. . . I'm not the kind of guy to hide, and I don't think I need anyone to defend my play. Facts speak for themselves...and you are describing the size of a "fish" that was never on your line. Come on. You can do it. Apologize!

. . . in only a handful of those tournaments and won one. How many have you won Have It? My advice to you . . quit with the vulgar behavior, grow up, any, read THE POKER MINDSET by Ian Taylor & Matthew Hilger. I think it would help in your maturity process. Good luck and stay away from cash games. You don't have the poker mindset. btw, at this point I've played in 9,083 hands and taken 230 bounties - - - one of them was YOU! Step up to the plate and make an apology. . .

Just so you reader's know the real facts. . . YesIHaveIt obviously has a grudge against me. . . I had middle pair, top kicker and lucked out. He also says I had "14, 468 hands played, 162 bounties, and 0 (ZERO) final tables!!! That says to me that this guy doesn't have a clue.". . . check out the truth about me. . . .and you may rethink your opinion of YesIHaveIt. Also, keep in mind that the players on the East Coast don't participate in the bigger late night games. I have played in only a ha

But you want them to think they made a good move. Them playing better isn't going to help you win!

I understand what everyone is saying, but sometimes you just want to let someone know how moronic they are. I think that without crossing the line you should be allowed to put someone in their place. Just going away lets them believe they made a good move. Great in the long run, but I hate leaving the table without at least the thought that maybe they won't try to suck out on the next person. Maybe one person can make a difference!!!
Bad beats happen to all of us, but we should not have to

For what it's worth:

"Sometimes you just go broke. You'll catch a hand so strong, so unlikely to be beaten, that you ignore any evidence that suggests the contrary. There's nothing you can do but take the beat with poise and professionalism". Phil Gordan

I too get very, very frustrated with losing to someone that calls all in with a 2 7 off suit and wins with a full house and I have A A. However, we don't know what is going on in that person's house. They may have to leave or they accidentally hit the wrong button. Either way I think that the cursing wouldn't be so bad, but, when you start getting personal and calling people names with the cursing, that is when it crosses the line. Calling them stupid or morons is actually calling ourselves

Last but not least, I am often chided for my aggressive play when I have a big hand (AA, KK, QQ, etc.) by making substantial, sometimes all-in raises preflop. To which I answer, "I'd rather drag the blinds and antes than to lose most or all of my stack to the donks who should never be in the hand in the first place, raised pot or not". No one has never argued with me on that point yet. Slow playing big hands is sure death, for as surely as the sun will rise, the donks will suck out on us.

One other thing - well, actually two: (1) I will never forget what Randoman told me when I asked him: why do these idiots play that way? And his reply was "Because they can!"; and (2) this type of poker - i.e.: the membership-based, low monthly cost type (aka "free") - is an open invitation to all the morons and donks in the world who take great pleasure in sucking out on us. It is very frustrating to the good players and entices us to make bonehead moves like your opponent in this case.

Well, let's look at it this way: If you were sitting at a live table, what would you have done or said? It is so much easier to vent our frustration when we don't have to look the idiots in the eye! Not to mention the humiliation and embarrassment we cause ourselves when there are many other witnesses to our tirade, making us look just as childish and stupid as the offender.

Unfortunately, there are many players who do not learn by their mistakes. They will repeat the moronic moves every time.

I was having so much fun venting that I forgot to mention that he had A 8 offsuit.
