Congrats CHILLSHOT!!! (SPOY)

First and foremost congrats CHILLSHOT for your SPOY win!! You worked hard and you deserve it..Dont let the haters get you down.It seems alot of people out there dont think a Spadeclub player should have taken this down.I beg to differ and beleave SC has some of the best online players around..

It seems that some small minded people over at a certain forum decided it would be ok to attack Chillshots achievement in the SPOY 2008. Now someone else has taken exception to that and has set up some private games for spade club players and these forum members players. You should checkout the forum at www.beyondthefelt.org if you would like to take part in the games. Lets show these people how spade club players roll.

Chills we need you on our team and hope to see you there.BTF has your back!!

AT THE POKER TABLE. Do I have to shout?

"Ungar's biggest problem was his sickness. For twenty years, he abused himself with drugs. I can't help but think what might have been. What a waste. His life, even with the exciting times and conquests, was a tragedy. Drugs consumed him. I'm astounded when I think of what he achieved in poker, but I shudder to think of what he might have accomplished. Ungar died in 1998 at the age of 42."

To quote Mike Sexton "Ungar had a genius IQ and a photographic memory. He also had the quickest mind of anyone I've ever met. His talent at all card games was truly incredible. He was barred from playing blackjack nearly everywhere. In No Limit Hold'em, he was relentless. Describing how Ungar played No Limit poker is like talking about someone who is a fearless warrior with a combination of the artistry of Mozart, the moves of Michael Jordan, and the focus of Tiger Woods."

I don't have a problem with your reasons for playing here or not playing here. There are players that care and don't care about the SPOY everywhere in the spoy list from top to bottom. That's ok with me. So what do you think? Was Stu Ungar a donkey at the poker table?

swighey, read my blog "I am not in the SPOY Competition by Choice". It pretty much sums it up. I didn’t t join SC because of SPOY & find the daily cash tournaments too unrelaistic & boring & not wroth my time & effort. I play very few daily cash tournaments & hands played represents all hands played, not just cash tournament hands. I also don't need to win a cruise, they don't really cost that much. My time is worth too much to play 24-7 at this site. &, I am pulling the plug soon.

...donked out a fair bit) or you can play a solid game and hope to get lucky on the bubble. Either way, you have to play well at the end of the game to amass a big stack of SPOY points. Stu Ungar said, "I either bust out early or I win" about his tourney play. Was he a donkey at the poker table?

Chillshot thoroughly deserves to be where he is in the spoy race. If you can reach the final table repeatedly and win and win and win again then you are a good play with good poker skills. He might not be the best or second best player on the site but he's put the work in and achieved the results necessary to get to where he is. As for GWL's cheap shot at Chills, there are two ways to play this site GWL. You can get your chips in early with good cards hoping to build a stack (you will get.....

My hat goes off to all the players who play 24/7 for SPOY. SpadeClub hit a goldmine when they thought that one up...It seems everyone is consumed by it...I knew from the get go that I was not a good enough player to even make top 100,much less win it...Alot of friends of mine are on the list and I wish them luck and hope that someone I know takes it down this year...GL 2 U ALL...ChipMan

Wow-50K hands and 7 finals and 0 wins. I finally found someone way worse than me, and I only play ABC poker. Thank you Rowdy.
Chill congrats. (but I really secretly wish it was me)

In fact the current leader board shows the people that I really think play well here. and there are those that are not there anymore. look for the difference.

Love the NahSayers, you have to look at the numbers baby, most point takes the cake. If I started from the beginning, maybe I would have been in contention. But he won and that's it. What the real naysayers dont get is the fact that to win a tournament, you have to play differently than other people do. if you dont your not going to win.

You guys crack me up about SPOY and don’t seem to get it. SPOY does not mean anything except that you have won more SPOY tournaments. Many players don’t give one iota about SPOY. Many of the best players at SC only play the big weekly & monthly tournaments & just don’t care about SPOY. So if the best players don’t even bother with SPOY, who gives one iota that some Donkey playing 15 hours a day was in 1st place for a few days. Sealedtight is a much better player.

I also looked at the profiles of the complainers. Seems like those of you who can't find a way to win have to put down guys like Chillshot who has lots of wins. If you can't give Chillshot a compliment at least keep your own mugs shut. It is obvious who can play and who can't.

what really cracks me up are guiys on the site since august 08, with 50,000 hands and only 7 final tables with no wins!! that, my friend, is hilarious!!! quit crying...sniffle sniffle....and dont worry what others are doing with thei money- LOSER

Chillshot is just another of the Donkeys who has figured out that if you risk all your chips early with pre-flop all-ins and hit, you can make more final tables. If you miss, just play hundreds of more tournaments using the same style until you do hit and then play tight aggressive. After all, you have nothing at risk. And if you play 15 hours a day, you can try and try again until it works. Play here is a joke.

You people don't know much if you really think chillshot is a good player! HE SAID HE PLAYED 15 HOURS A DAY AND MADE $1200 ON HERE!!! That's a joke. If he was good he would play somewhere else at least part of the time and make some real money!

Chillshot and all the other top players deserve a ton of credit. Too many negative people out there. They ridicule like high schoolers and yet won't put their money where their mouth is, or even attempt a challenge out of pride, or more likely, fear of losing.
