My only problem with some one sitting out is that when they are all in thier hand is played. I still haven't figured out how some one not there can play a hand. By the way I lost my power today ten minutes before the weekly and when I got it back a half hour or so later I was no longer in the weekly. So goes my luck. good luck all.

PEOPLE SITTING OUT - GOOD OR BAD ?
By ace1ofheartsMar 08, 09 12:41 PM

This is my opinion about the subject and I feel VERY strongly about it.
I don't even know where to begin...
First of all, I don't understand why people feel that it is wrong to sit out. Some people feel that those players should be eliminated after a certain number of hands, because they are not playing. Some people feel it is unfair that a player "sitting out" will finish higher than them. Doesn't seem right, right?
BUT:
If a player has entered/paid his/her entry to a tournament, it is completely up to them to decide and do what ever they want to do with their chips. They can fold every hand or go all-in every hand. AA or 27, what ever cards they choose to play it is up to them how to play them.
People sit out for different reasons; some might have a bad internet connection, some might have to leave to run an errand and try and come back later, some just might have to go somewhere else... work, party, an emergency... They could have just fallen asleep while playing or just decided to sit out and try to avoid bad beats not getting involved in a hand... And that is basically the same thing as "express folding" all hands.
There is this one player, who ALWAYS shows up for a tournament only after the first level of play ( sitting out and blinded out per se ) . Can anyone imagine what kind of a fit Phil Hellmuth Jr. would throw if the tournament manager would inform him : " Sorry sir, you have missed 30 hands already, so you have been eliminated from this tournament."

One guy told me that he was playing at a table with everyone else sitting out and it was "no fun". WHAT? WHAT?
I would have been clapping my little hands and clicking that call-button as fast as I humanly could...
Oh well, this is what I am trying to say: A person sitting out is no threat to anyone. They are not putting themselves to any kind of advantage, quite the contrary. A player sitting out and is forced to go all-in has a dead hand.
So, plese don't fold to people sitting out if you are the last to act. You can aquire free chips. Just pay attention and don't have the "express fold" on... Simple click on the call button will get you some chips. Wink wink.
Ok, I am typing out, sit in or sit out, do what ever you think is best for you.
Until next time, Sirpa.

It's kinda a double sided thing for me. If a buy-in is paid you should be there til you blind out but in a freeroll I think you should be "picked up to move the game along. The problem with these thoughts is this site's structure. I see this as an all freeroll site but some may see the points as real buy-ins. That will always be an issue so the manager just has to have a rule one way or the other and we deal with it.
I've had the bad luck to be at a table where they were all sit outs at the beginning of a big tournament. People at other tables were getting massive chip leads, while I could only collect blinds as fast as possible. In live play, I can come and go as I want. I just pay the blinds. So, it should be the same here. I'm sure the all in sit out bug is somewhere on SC's prioritized fix list.
Generally I don't like sitting outs, because I play late night EST, and when there is like 10 people sitting out and their blinds are clocking down, getting more F/T points at that point can be more difficult. its how people play in regards to a 'sitting out' person that drives me crazy more than anything else; like giving blinds and antes when the sitting out person is the BB is like number one on my list.
Now I agree with you on a table and your the only person live, I had a SC tournament where I was the only one on the table, so I was happy to get all the free chips as fast as I could.
I AGREE 100% I never even cared until people complained now i care to complain about them complaining they have no idea how many times i stalled on purpose sit-out and even stall then sit-out as a strategy so if someone is at my table i will never say hey can u please not sitout so u can take my chips nor will u see me say zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzHURRY UP!!!! i will stick tp complaining about the flawed rng and outdated rigged software and players weak play which i am more comfortable doing
I used it for the first time last night. I had to move my cars off the lawn and into the garage (washed both of them) before it got dark. It was either that or let my 12 year old play for me. LOL
I did see where the BB was sitting out and the SB folded an unopened pot. LOL
well here's my 2 cent.
I have a couple of kids 118 cm and 142 cm, sometimes they need my attention, they have to eat :-D, so that's why I sit out. I dont mind players sitting out for what ever purpose It's free chips and it's a litlle easier too play against e.c 6 players than 9. So by all means please feel free too sit out. You can always make a deal with the other players on the table too take turns stealing their blinds, there's no need to loose too a sit out.
My only complaint about sitouts was their being ableto win pots when allin-but SC fixed that-BUT created another similar problem:disconnects (the players with ( ) around their names in game can still win pots when all in.It's a minor problem, but still one that needs to be adressed.TY...PS:GWL-You should let your 12 yr old play-will probably do well on this site.
sitting out is bad most players sitout delibratly to cheat and win a higher rank in game, and yes there should be a time limit as to how many hands they can sit out for :)
sit outs were debated last year and thats why they are unlimited. the reasons for doing it simply out weigh those that dont like it. what difference does it make, u get to collect the blinds. what really is bad is the disconnect bug gets action on a allin and when u sign up for a game and dont log on or report in time u get booted. players are leaving the site because they get ripped off. can u imagine missing the money to a disconnect? or getting booted on VIP cause ur late? its sad
