why not make it an avg based score with a mandated minimum of tourneys played? This rewards players who play well and not just who plays most often. I don't think it is big secret that some players are using the team method of having others play under 1 username to pad the stats. I have even read some profiles that state "my wife/gf and i both enjoy poker. Watch out you don't know whose clicking the mouse." If a husband and wife can do it, why not a bunch of friends that want to split the big p

SPOY 09

We all start with a clean slate. They made some changes to reflect the requests of alot of players, just to count the cash tournies and increase the point system based on number of players. Nice improvement. And still get complainers...They cant win. I say quit whinning.. If u cant play as many as some, concentrate on the ones u can play on and be able to buy yourself the 1st place prize they will be giving away!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

well said aces!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hope everyone reads this as it is the best advice i've heard in a long time!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! good luck at the tables!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Good post...Clap Clap.standing O...let the players play. I like to read these posts while working cuz i get paid for doing nothing. I missed the 30k event and several big events and you don't see me complaining. But one thing I notice is theres something funky about these cards.
The point those of us who can't play 24/7 have is that while we pay the exact same entry fee as everyone else, we are effectively excluded from one of the biggest prizes of the site. Any pont system that rewards volume play will be abused, plain and simple. They could solve this simply by haveing a set number of your best finishes could each week or month. That would AT LEAST give the rest of of a fighting chance.
I agree with aces4me. I put all the SPOY games on a spreadsheet and set up formulas to account for the multipliers and one thing really stands out. It doesn't matter how many tourneys are played unless some big ones are won you won't stand much of a chance. If someone can win four or five weekly 5Ks and maybe one 30K they will be hard pressed not to win. Once they get the backend fixed the 30K should pay about 12,600 points for first. It would take a lot of $10 Daily Turbos paying generally

generally 600 or 400 SPOY points to even make a dent vs the winners of the big events. I plan on focusing on the $500 diily tourneys and up. I think it is the most probable way to win the SPOY and that is as it should be.
I love playing on SC. In one year it has allowed me to go from bad to mediocre-good. My goal this year is to go from mediocre-good to good-very good. SPOY is useful as a personal reference point. The new system will even out the 24/7 players and the great players. You can no longer make first place just by playing volume, you have to final or win some big ones. I like it.

Thank you for the post aces4me, I completely agree. I can see the point of those who play less wanting to get in on the spoy action too and they can. I for one am going to try and beat my last years score which will be a good challenge for me. Those that have the talent and time to hit top spoy I say great for them. Those that have less time and mostly just play the larger money games I say good for them too. Just enjoy what you have and do the best with it, gl all, see you on the felt, Tex
