By cheecheeNov 03, 09 01:55 PM

Lesson #1 Simply Learning To Believe.
Lesson #2 Omaha Hi Limit Basic Starting Hands.
Lesson #3 The Four P’s - Proper Person, Patience, Position. Omaha HI Limit
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Welcome back, I hope you have taken some time to study and practice the suggested previous lesson's home work : )
.......................................................................................................................
These strategies are geared towards the beginners for now, Please note that just because you can not seem to win big on line will not mean you can not win in the future or playing live or that over time it wont pay off for you .
Over the long run, Playing Properly will pay off, This has been my experience.
<
<
There will come that day when things start to just come natural to you I promise : ) You will have learned how to adjust your game to the style of players/table styles you are playing and can react accordingly.
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Lets Begin!
Proper Person and Patience! Here is a example I like to use.
noun: good-natured tolerance of delay.
This is what I like to remember, The key words being “good natured” about it all---Attitude : )
Just How Important Is One’s Attitude When Playing Poker? It is essential to me to maintain a calm, cool Attitude at all times when in a game of poker. If you want respect at the tables, you must show respect!
That is being a proper person! Simply be polite, don’t trash peoples play, say nice hand when you believe it was, say nothing if you have nothing positive to say. Better to bite your tongue than get a reputation of being a jerk. In my humble opinion.
<
<
Now there is a second half of being what I call a proper person, which is when a player starts harassing YOU at the tables, live and or in the chat boxes, You should still remain proper! Try not to get into any bashing fights over some silly words, Even if they “started it” I simply laugh it off.
They are trying to get under your skin, it is best to ignore them, if it is bugging you simply turn off your chat box if someone just won’t stop yakking at you. Do not let anyone take your focus from your game!

Patience:
>
Sometimes it can get hard to fold and fold again and again but patience is one of the essential keys to becoming a winning player and over time, in the long run it will benefit your game in many ways.
It will teach you to be disciplined and as well will give you lots of time to watch others as you are sitting back. You have the rest of your life to play poker, the more hands you watch, the better your game will get! Try not to play garbage just because you are bored! Now there are times when the blinds and such may force you to play a hand, that is very different than playing garbage because you are bored!~
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
I find that the study of other players especially when playing them over and over like here, can gain you a great advantage if only “you train yourself “ to stay focused even when you are out of the hand! Get into the habit of watching and you will be amazed what it will do for you when you are playing on line and even a better advantage when playing live games!
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
This Lessons homework:
Practice trying to maintain focus through every hand in a tourney, even when or if you get busted out, pick a table and just watch. Watch the comments, watch who gets under another's skin, watch the players, watch the flops, turns and rivers, watch what cards people are “showing down” who is doing all the raising pre flop, who are the callers, who are tight, who is loose, watch everything!
Do this several times this week just to try and get into the habit of it.
;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
Position:
With 9 players each getting 4 hole cards, that is a lot of cards “out” add the five community cards and almost the entire deck is in play! So again believe me when I say that in limit Omaha-Poker_Hi in general you need the nuts or close to it to win the pot.
Position is important in any poker game but in Omaha, to me important but not as much in this low risk setting type of play, I like to see the flop, as it is a nine card drawing game! Yes position can make you a extra bet or save you a bet but in general I like to see the flop if I hold any of the top starting hands. Some of the lower top hands I may muck if it had been raised and re raised.
This is my opinion! In no limit when you find those games : o / I will play normally only the very best top starting hands and in proper position. I would muck the lower top hands in early position. Much like I would play Texas Hold em.
::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
"Never Chasing ” anything but the nut or second best nut is a common success strategy in limit poker. Limit Omaha is best played in a very straightforward way. If you have it, bet it. If not dump it and wait for a better flop.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Next lesson a in depth look at playing certain hands and getting certain flops : )
Remember to do your home work! Practice makes a better player I promise : )
Until next time You Can Doooo Itttttt ------CheeChee
