Hello,
Welcome back, How did it work for you? Did you make it through a entire tournament keeping your focus? what did you learn? Well, only you will know if you did your home work : )
........................................................................................................
O.K. Lets Begin: Lesson #4
This will be your last lesson on straight Omaha, You should have the basics down on starting hands, except the running connectors... I will go into those a little more here for you.
You should have concept of attitude and how a bad one can affect your game in a negative way, you should know that if you want respect, you need to give respect, you should understand “before you go on to Omaha hi/low” to be able to read the “board” to know what the nut is or can be at all times.
.........................................................................................................
If you think Omaha is confusing to read the "boards" wait till you play hi low : ) This is why I strongly suggest you pratice the lessons! Get your cards out and flop your self some flops, turns and rivers, till your eyes drop : )_
........................................................................................................
A QUICK RECAP, IN A QUICK GUIDE FOR YOU.
In Omaha, you “must use two cards” from your hand and three from the board to complete any five card poker hand.
If you have three fives in your hand and a five hits the flop, you "do not" have 4 of a kind!(you can only use two cards from your hand, remember) (you have three of a kind) If you have one five in your hand and three hit the flop," you do" have 4 of a kind! If you have two fives in your hand and two fives hit the flop, you have 4 of a kind! If there are no fives in your hand and no fives anywhere on the board, You have no fives at all : )
....................................................................................................
Cards that work together in Omaha are the ones you want to be playing! I ghave you a great starting hands list in a earlyer lesson.
Most pots in Omaha high are won by strong hands such as trips, nut straights,
flushes and full houses.
........................................................................................................
When you flop bottom or middle sets, proceed with caution! You get the nut straight on the flop, proceed with caution, as the flush or boat may be lurking on the turn or river. You flop bottom two pair, again proceed with caution, watch the betting, the players and the board at all times and over time, you will learn the proper decisions for this game. Suited running connectors are great for straights and flushes
just play with caution!
..........................................................................................................
Low and mid pocket pairs are close to worthless. A hand like 5588 belongs in the muck.
Even if you hit a set, you can easily lose to a higher set, straight, or flush.
........................................................................................................
There is much more one can learn about Straight Omaha and I encourage you to keep believing and pratice the homework that was given to you and soon your game will fall right into place.
..............................................................................................................
Next blog will be Omaha 8/ob.
Thank you and best of luck to you on the felt.
CheeChee- You Can Doooo Itttttt : )
