Played last night in the BIG tourney. Finished 47th, so close yet so far. Still mulling over everything and appreciate the chance to play in something like this. Now what can SC do to improve. Well, the blind structure is the first. For a tourney of this magnitude 15 min. blinds should be the minimum. Didin't know the structure changed till I sat down. Completely changed my strategy. Felt like we were playing a turbo, and there was definately alot of shoving. I like to play my position, but it seemed if anyone had any kind of hand it got shoved. Longer blinds would be nice for this tourney. Timing of the tourney would also be nice. A Saturday afternoon start would probably be easier for most people. I , like some people changed my work schedule to play. A Saturday at 2PM would probably work for the majority of people. Europeans, it wouldn't be so late. East coast not up so late and West coast not to early. Just a couple thoughts about the tourney. Appreciate any comments or thoughts. Had fun, see you at the tables.

I agree 1 million percent. I just posted a very similar comment on SCKENNYs blog about the VIP tourney. It was a crap shoot after first break!

Although longer blind structures definitely favors the better players, a tournament with this payout structure will inherently be of a looser nature because there is essentially only one place being paid out. Thus, you must build your stack early to put yourself in a position to win. I know I played very aggressively early and would have done so regardless of the blind structure.

Well, it cut my notes off, but note how over half the field was gone after just 25 minutes.

I think all tournaments here are crap shoots. Nothing to lose, play almost anything and if you bust just play wild in the next and hope to hit a big chip lead. I have seen just to much crap here to even care anymore.
