'Donk' Really

By detlefgrohs

Got called a 'Donk' at the table this morning. Was the first time that happened on this site and I can't remember the exact play that caused him to call me a 'Donk'. It couldn't have been the play that doubled me up because I was short-stacked and in the big-blind and went all-in. I flopped a straight. Granted, I lost most of my chips on a previous hands with top pair and was trapped by trips. Maybe a suspect call when the trips went all in, but I though I had him. Of course nobody thinks they are a donkey and maybe I am, but then you should want to play with me even more ;-)

I guess this comes back to my thoughts on weaker players. If they truly are a weaker player (a 'Donk'), you want to play them because they will pay you off in the long run, if they aren't and you call them that you look like an idiot. So either way I think you look like an idiot when you call someone weak or 'Donk'.

I guess this all comes back to anonymous aspect of the internet. I have met some abusive players at real life poker tables, but there seem to be more talkative abusive players online. We have a Friends feature on this site, maybe we need a Enemys or 'Not Friends' feature where we can list those abusive players. If there is no consequence, there is no feedback or correction of behavior. Abusive players in real life start getting ignored and shunned. Oh, a 'Shunned List' would be great!

Too much coffee this morning...
