VIP TOURNAMENT
By fbcoach16Feb 10, 09 06:25 PM

I have a couple of problems with the VIP tournament. As I am writing this, there are 5399 people registered for the VIP tourney. Which is by far the largest tourney ever at Spadeclub. Everyone is starting with 5k in chips. All this is great!!!!!!
PROBLEM #1
Why do such a big tournament in the middle of the week
PROBLEM #2
The average 30k, which also begins each player with 5k in chips and the same blind structure and usually has less than 2k entrants, lasts 8 hours. With what I am sure will approach close to or over 6000 entrants, this tourney may reach the 12 to 15 hour mark in length. With only one person getting paid here, that is a huge time investment.
PROBLEM #3
By starting at 9:00 eastern and 6:00 west coast time, individuals who have to work do not have a legitimate opportunity to realistically compete for this prize.
I am a loyal Spadeclub member. Just think that to offer a prize of this magnitude at this time of the day in the middle week was not the most well conceived plan......
Good luck to us all tomorrow night

Hey Coach; I agree with you on #1 and #3, albeit does not affect me since I've retired since '03.
On #2: This turney will last 7 to 9 Hrs. Just like the other mega-turney they had previously.
