Truly a sad day for Phillies fans everywhere.... He will be sorely missed as the voice of the Phillies but never forgotten... Now he will be up in the great gig in the sky with his buddy Whitey

Monday, April 13, 2009... One of the greastest baseball broadcasters of all times, Harry Kalas, died at 1:20 today. Harry will be remembered as the narrator of our memories. His voice will live on in the hearts and minds of every person who is a fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. I will miss him forever.

I will only know the Philiies games as done by Harry Kalas. During my childhood, I NEVER missed a Philllies games, walking around with my trusty, leather-wrapped transistor radio, listening on 1060 am, then 790 am....(kind of like this one: http://cgi.ebay.com/transistor-radio-built-into-leather-case,-Radio-Shack_W0QQitemZ300219293407QQcmdZViewItem) I have actually been very upset by Harry's passing.

Truly a sad day for baseball, and it should be pointed out he is one of the great commentators for nfl films as well. He was a great personality that will missed.
