7 July $500 Nightly I

Well finally, I managed to make it through to a real money final table! The key hand was near the end where I ended up all in with my 8-8 against 9-9 and spiked an 8 on the turn to stay alive. I was last in chips going into the final table, but managed to outlast 1 more person before having $40K of my remaining $120 in the big blind with K-5h. I was called by A-3 and he hit an A on the flop, I hit a 5 on the turn to give some hope, but an A on the river sent me to the rail in 8th place, $15 richer then I was.

I probably got too tight near the end, but sometimes you just need that first one under your belt. Now I won't feel so much pressure and will just go with my instincts.

And...it's nice to finally have that final table icon on my profile. :)

we all get frustrated at times when a weaker hand hits but we need players to call us when we're ahead. would we rather they called us when we're behind. We hate it when they hit and we love it when they miss.Sometimes it does feel like a donk minefield but it's all part of the game.If u can't stand the heat, get out of the kitchen. GL ALL

I could not have said it better. I see alot of players calling other players donks, and most of te time they are the ones playing like donks.

the majority of people on this web site dont have any respect for poker when it comes to freerolls they say so what its free wether its free or not the game itself should still be respected at lot of people took alot of time getting poker mainstream its sad to see it get disrespected

Your comments were articulately rendered and I really liked your positive approach to not only your play but also to those whom you have opposed. There are a lot of instances in which we have to take risks and play an inferior hand. Sometimes we win, but that doesn't relagate us to "donkdom!" Suertero

I agree that most players use the term donkey far too often especially considering that there are many factors that make up any play in poker... Not the least of which is the fact that SC markets this as a site to try new things without risking a buy in.

i dont think most people really get upset losing to another good hand. i know i dont. thats poker. its just when u raise healthy and get called by j 4 or k 2 and they beat ya. Thats a donk. the person that calls with GARBAGE!

3 cheers! The amount of frustration people have is understandable, but it just seems like people think the best hand pre-flop should always win, and it often dosen't. Calling people out on single hands I think is silly. Great to see someone puting the idea into such a well thought out post.
