Conclusion of live hand

Alright....so sitting on KK, flop K93, all spades, get reraised on the flop all in (for full details see last blog). I went into the tank for about 30 seconds on this one, which is an eternity for me. I thought about his possible holdings-made flush, not likely, why not smooth call? The only possible reason to reraise there is to protect a baby flush from a draw, but I still figured him for a call with a made flush. I thought, "what would I reraise all in with in his position", and my answer was "nothing". The only other possibilities to me were a flush draw, flush draw with a pair, a smaller set, 2 pair, or a stone bluff. I also considered my current table image, which was extremely tight at the time, giving graybeard a reason to bluff here. Since graybeard was playing aggressively and did not reraise I did not put him on a premium hand. I was thinking he was probably on an ace or king high flush draw (maybe even a lower one), possibly with a pair, which put me a little better than 2-1 to take it down. Like Kenny said, even if he had a made flush, I still had plenty of outs-7 on the turn and 10 on the river. I put him 70% flush draw, 20% stone bluff, 10% a set, 2 pair, or a made flush. I thought probably something like A-9 or A-10 with one spade. Needless to say, I called my stack off and he turns over........AK with NO spade....what??? I never even considered this hand because of the way he was playing and the smooth call preflop. Good time to change gears, but a bad time to fall in love with big slick. So he is dead to runner runner and I double up early. Graybeard says nothing, but I look up and the guy at the other side of the table next to graybeard WINKS AT ME! I don't know if he was a little light in the loafers or if he was glad I had taken most of the table bully's chips. I made a face kinda like the smiley icon with his mouth in a circle. I then consciously played the next 15 hands or so conspicuously displaying my wedding band while holding my cards. Anyway, from this point on I had complete control of the table after they saw me risk my stack on a very scary board, I was able to pick up several small pots and increased my stack to just over 10k and was loving this table, then.....the table breaks.....man I hate that! The table never seems to break when someone owns my azz. So I grab my chips and head to the next table, where graybeard joins me. The table dynamics of this table were unique to be sure........to be continued.....

I would fold preflop KK never win

on a serious note since he is big stack, active and on the button im guessing any suited connector, weak ace or small pair. my guess is if he would move all in with Aspade and pair so A9 or J10

I have no idea how big this tourney is and have no serious feel for this guy, but based on what you say, I think he's full of it. I call and take the risk. Should this be a serious tourney and serious buy in and I have the impression he is a seriou player, I fold and wait for a better time as the dent in my stack isn't huge. I generally am not putting my tourney life on the line for such a bad situation. But, my gut based on the info here is he probably has a draw or is outright bluffing. (Third

I would have to fold the set. I always assume if they will go all in on a flop like that, they must have the nuts and they are trying to make you think they are weak and want you out. I bet he had 2 pair huh? I can't wait to hear the outcome.

I would call, you're getting near the right price if he has the flush. I prefer to gamble early and get chips or go play live. Here is the math
top set vs. flush on the flop: set has 7 outs on the flop or 36% there is 950 pre- flop and you bet 400 so you have to call about 3200 more
so you're getting 1.5:1 and you're about 2:1 against. All odds are approx. and you pick up 3 more outs on the turn.

sometimes ya just gotta ditch odds in the face of aggression by a bully.having top set against a scary board and pulling the trigger was a gr8 play there and if you ever hook up with any of those folks in another game youll have an advantage.they know youve got some gamble in ya ..
