we live in a world that functions on a pecking order. From the president on down to us peons. The poker world is no different. Where would You experts be without us donkeys? The name of the game is winning. with all games there has to be a loser. why cant we just leave the pecking order out of it & have fun? After all games are an agreement between people. It would be great if we could sit down & solve all the wars in a poker game. After all war is just a continuation ofpolitics by other means.Cya @ the felt

In the pecking order of the poker world there are donkeys and fish. They both may play badly, but you are a fish when a higher order player beats you in a hand you should not have been in. You are a donkey when you beat a higher order player with a hand you should not have been in. Of course, the higher order player is the one who decides appropriate hands.Ego precludes leaving the pecking order out of the equation.

Why is it that society and yet the poker world has to have labels on people. I think that is the problem with the world today everyone wants to label someone else to make themselves feel better or more important. Im not a pro and the way you pros label me i am a donkey and a fish. Who says AK is always a better hand then QJ or AA is always better than K10 once the flop hits its a different story and the way i see it most cards are equal with a slight edge going to the flop. Once the flop hits

Some people at SC have become elitist to where they believe they are in the upper echelon of players on SC. Let me tell you something, when the supposed good players make a play it's brilliant but when an unknown does it, he is a donkey. When the elitist wins by going all in w/ rags pair and it holds, they will say "I made better hands fold" but when an unknown does it, it's bingo. Just don't call me names and I will always tell you, "Don't put too much weight on SPOY rankings!"

I made so many "stupid" decisions in business that turned out to be fantastic successes and so many "brilliant" decisions that turned into great failures, that I've learned a few things. Probability requires infinite time to work. Nobody knows everything. People reading and gut feelings are super important. In poker as in business "don't bet the farm", especially if the deck might be stacked against you. The "silver spoon" club is tough to play against.

~I believe that everyone in the world is an "equal" It is just that we have taken on different roles in this play of life. I have rank 44 spoy, and yet I see myself as no better than anyone else here. It is for me and me alone to have the success I desire. ~As for society, lol don't get me started~well I'm started, Some people need a huge amount of control and power, thus proving how insecure they really are...the really great people need to prove or say nothing to anyone but themselves.

I'm trying to become a better player. Sometimes I can outplay anyone on this site. Other times I'm a donkey and even a fish. Sharks and fish swim in the great poker ocean and occasionally a donkey dives in too for a swim. Make a donkey play and you will be, quite rightly, called a donkey. This has nothing to do with a pecking order or inequality - we can all go for a beer or a coffee after the game.

Read all above comments. Loved Nadster's about why society has to label things & people. Also, I loved PokerOd's view on how when an elitist player makes a play, he says he has made better hands fold; yet an unknown does it & he's "labeled" a donk. I think making a bet that eliminates a weak Ace so your hand stands up is good poker, not a donkey move.
