I think this is why SC added SnGs for 5K and 30K qualifiers. That way u only have to compete with 8 other players. And u get excellent FT and HU experience. I personaly play the MTT qualifiers, and then only when I need to earn another token. Maybe if SC paid out points 2 more places in those MTT qualifiers, u could at least get ur buyin back easier. Players in the SPOY race like to play qualifiers as they get SPOY points if they get a token. As a resilt, it's very hard for average or new players to get tokens. The new players, and the SPOY players are making the fields very large. This is an old story, which just gets worse. Someday, more than 5% of players will be rewarded for their time spent. Until then, just have fun trying.
