Response and Graciousness
By princyblueJun 09, 08 03:01 AM

Thank you for the humbling responses to my last blog. It's certainly encouraging to have the sort of responses I've received about my opinions.
I was raised in the Midwest. Learned my "home trainin" in the South. One of the most important things I learned in the South was being Gracious. Also, being a spiritual gal, GRACE was an acronym I lived my life by...(God's Riches at Christ's Expense)
Whether you win or lose, "graciousness" is something those who have paved the way before us would hope we continue. Several weeks ago I had the absolute priviledge of having dinner with Doyle and Todd Brunson and family. I won't lie and say I wasn't feeling like I had the opportunity of lifetime. I savored every single moment kicking back a few Corona's and eating Mexican food with legends of a game I will continue to spend the rest of my life enjoying. The most important gift I received was the graciousness of these folks. Yep, they're folks. Good ole' folks just trying to deal with their life, the challenges of the new world of poker and goofy gals like me who are simply privilidged to hang out with them from time to time... I"ve had the chance to hang out with them since but the bottom line is they are gracious. Winning or losing or simply too tired to deal with a gal like me,. they respect us as people and are..........GRACIOUS.
I think we can learn a few things from such a simple yet incredibly powerful word.

Wow,
Lucky girl...that is soooo cool, hanging out w/ Doyle and Fam...You said it best...We all must be gracious in this dying age of ethical and moral value standards, we live in..People aren't appreciative of the core values our parents and grand parents raised us to accept anymore!!
Young men like me, can learn a ton from a man like Doyle Brunson...Not only is he one of the greteast poker players to ever "Grace us" with his presence..but he is one of the oldest "True Gentlemen" alive today!
