My Son arrives Saturday evening
By princyblueAug 13, 08 02:48 AM

He's finished basic and AIT. He now heads off to Ft. Bliss Tx for 6 months and then off to the Middle East. He's not sure if he'll head to Afghanistan or Kosovo. He'll find out when he gets to Tx.
I've had a chance to talk to several friends who have been overseas, including my boss's son. He did a full tour over there and is heading back in 3 months. I'm the sort of person that needs to know the info whether it be good or bad. The lack of knowledge is what will tear me apart. I feel, at this point, fate is in God's hands and as I have known all along, it's out of my hands. Doesn't mean I won't worry and cry myself to sleep every night but at least my faith will get me through as it has many many times before. There is just something terrifying about having your oldest son head off to the other side of the world into war.
I have tickets to take him to Jersey Boys and will also go to see Stomp. I can't wait to see my son, the grown man in his uniform and have him come over to give me a kiss.
I'll do my best to post pictures on my blog asap.
xoxo

You should be very proud of your boy. The proud Americans who love thier country are indebted to him for what he has done and will do. We are also indebted to you and his father for raising an unselfish son.Thank him for all of us. I'm sure he will be safe and come back to you, after his tour of duty.

Without soldiers like your son there would not be a free america. They are doing the job they are asked to do and doing it well. It is greatly appreciated and our prayers will be with him and all that are serving abroad and stateside. Thank you for your sacrifice too.
