A tale of the 4 river kings Part 1
.
I must have got up on the wrong side of the bed today.
.
Bummed out from yesterday's poker crash &burn session,my thoughts were NOT to go play today.
.
Then this little guy on my shoulder (with horns)" aw come on get right back in the saddle and go get some of that easy money."
.

Sounded good to me. I take exactly $102 to the casino with me.$100 for poker and $2 for the buffet tip.
.
This piece of advice I am about to give you is priceless.If you follow it(of course i didn't) you will save thousands of dollars in your lifetime.
.
Never go to the casino or to any store to make a major purchase when you are bummed out or aggitated about something that just recently happened.Vent,deal with it,Talk to a friend,your priest but get yourself mentally prepared and in a good mood b4 you venture out.
.
I get to the casino and walk up to the poker counter and say 2/4 please.He has a seat open #3 on table one.I pull out my cash give him $100,my poker room card(comp) and stuff the other $2 back in my pocket.
.
I sit down and survey the table.I know 5 of the 7 players there.
.
Seat #1 is a 50ish Itallion guy who plays decent starting cards but he is a goldfish.His biggest downfall is he never pays attention to the texture of the flop.If he gets 2pair or better it's "load the cannons" bring her broadside and" fire when ready".
.
He also will chase any flush draw or open end str draw to the river >no matter what the pot odds are.I have not seen him chase bottom pair or gut shots.
. He has 2 big tells
1. when the flop or turn hits him he will sit up in his chair and lean torward the table and grab his cards.
2.when he has a good draw he holds his cards with both hands face down out in front of him and leans in when the dealer is about to unviel the turn or the river.(you can almost feel his anticipation if you pay attention)
.

.He is also one of those guys when he is winning, plays the part of a big Mcgaff and lets you know what a better player he is when he scoops a pot from you.
.
I have seen him do this many times to players(not to me) but I don't like him for this reason.
.
So I am admitting right now I have a chip on my shoulder and would love to beat him in a pot.
.
The other players are mostly reg and play o.k.

Seat #2 Oriental (real nice guy) usually plays in the rockem sockem 4/8 game and plays higher than that.Just playing here to pass the time.

seat #4 older guy plays mostly premium card top pair top kicker kinda guy.I never see him a pot with any crazy chase draws.Will die on the river with AA or KK.
.
The 1st orbit i fold everything inc my blinds to raises.This hand comes up seat #4 raises the pot and 4 see the flop

9s Qs 4c ( str & flush draw) 3 see the turn for 1 bet

9s Qs 4c 6s(flush gets there) seat 4 bets out fold and seat 1 says raise and is quickly called by seat 4 river is

9s Qs 4c 6s Kd seat 4 checks and seat 1 bets.seat 4 calls

seat 4>>>As Kc ---- top pair top kicker(-busted 4flush draw)
seat 1>>.Kh Qc __ 2 pair winner

I thought for sure seat 1 had the flush on the turn with his raise but as usual raised his top pair right into a flush board and gets away with murder.The KING(#1) on the river got one more bet from seat 1.
.
I get 55 and see the flop with 4 others for 1 bet
.
5d Ad 2d bummer (set on flushboard) 3 see the turn 1bet
.
5d Ad 2d Js (there's hope yet) 3 see the river for 1 bet
.
5c Ad 2d Jd Kd( blah) I check check seat 1 bets i fold seat 6 or7 calls
.
seat 6or7 Ac 6d ( 4 flush river) 6 high
seat 1 As 10d (4flush river) 10 high
.
I bet out very street and check folded on the river.K(#2) on the river spoiled my bid to win my 1st pot.
.
An orbit later I get A8sd UTG and made 2 mistakes playing it.
.
I limp everybody folds until the BB makes it 4
.

1.Even though there is not too much preflop raising I should have folded this hand UTG and out of pos the rest of the hand.
2. Heads up what can i win I am behind and should have mucked to his raise.

Flop is 2d 5c 8h ( top pair top kick) door flush
.
I just want to check this down cause I know I should't have played it in the 1st place .He could have 1010- JJ QQ KK AA easily in this spot.I check and call
.
Turn is 2d 5c 8h Ah (sweet) top 2. I lead out in case he has AK but he just calls me.
.
River is 2d 5c 8h Ah Ks and he says ooooh mumble mumble (damm he has AK) I check he bets I call and he shows
.
KK "r u kidding me" I say outloud as I muck my A8 face up.He says" I no gonna fold Kings just lucky."
.
. I said it's not your fault or the dealers in my new found calm voice.I just can't win a pot lately.
.

.I am steaming inside and river king #3 should have made me take a walk have a cig cool down something, but I just hunkered down and floded the next 7 or 8 garbage hands I got.
.

The final hand of this ill fated session came soon enough.
I pick up 109s on the button and join 2 limpers in the pot
.
flop if 9c 3c 6h(top pair bad kick) check check and I bet and my only caller is seat 1. I strongly feel he has 2 big cards in his hand and I have the best of it.He is sitting up with both hands on his cards(lol).
.
As the dealer puts the turn card on the felt he leans right in to get a closer look(lol)>>9c 3c 6h 2s and then he leans back. I know I got him now.He checks and I bet $4 into the existing $8 pot. so his pot odds are 3/1.He insta calls.
.
river is ( as he leans in again) 9c 3c 6h 2s Ks( he freezes looks down at his chips and bets 4 right into me).I insta call his busted flush and he shows KQsc
.

. I say "another miracle worker" and he says" i had a flush draw you f---in idiot."
I say "your the f--in idiot" '
.
The dealer to his credit quickly says"calm down' and he says"why whats he(me) gonna do?
.
I get this crystal clear image in my mind of my left fist connecting just under his nose followed by a right flush into his left cheek.(just a thought)
.
He continues to verbally insult me but I am not listening.I calmy get up collect my remaining chips and say matter of factly "sir you wouldn't like what I would do to you."
.
I move as slow as I can to the front counter and cash in my chips and swipe out.The card room mgr hands me $48 and my card.
.
Walking toward the buffet I pass my gimmick video poker machine.I put my card in but the reader doesn't work so I stick a 20 in the one next to it.This machine was right out of the Nicholos Cage movie "gone in sixty seconds"
.
I reach into my pocket for another 20 when FINALLY this little guy on my shoulder(without horns) starts pulling on my ear with wreckless abandon,trying to get me to come to my senses.
.
Where the hell have you been'?I say to the little man who is now swinging back and forth on my ear lobe.Certainly not there(hell) he said" but I did go see Bette Midler.She sings like an angel"
.
He starts to explain that throwing money down a sewer is not the answer to>>>>>OK OK I get it Let's go eat.The little guy says "now you're talkin".
.
I stuff the 20 back in my pocket,Take my card out of the machine and head for the buffet.I give the lady my free buffet ticket(I love Free) ,order some coffee & milk and head for the food.
.
When I got to the table the little guy jumps off my shoulder lands on the table and sits up against the sugar holder and says "Bring me some ice cream..vanilla this time and don't 4get the sprinkles."
.
I say "can't they see or hear you? he says "no but they can hear you so shut up and get me that ice cream.
.
I come back with his ice cream and then go to the salad bar and pile every heathy veggie on a big plate inc a bowl of beets and onions.
.
We had a long talk over dinner and I realized this whole day was a set up to fail affair.To my credit I did prevent this day from becoming a disaster and turned it into a learning expierence.
.
I could sit at that same table 100 days in a row ,playing against the same abrasive player,taking way worse bad beats and when the dealins done >>take my loss like a man and walk out with a healthy attitude knowing tomorrow's another day.
.
Tues was one day that didin't happen.It was totally my fault.My mindset was somewhere else and I was not mentally prepared to play poker or anything competitive with other human beings.I kept all my feelings from my birthday session inside.I stuffed all those feelings into a big chip and placed it on my shoulder.
.
As you mature in life(can't wait til I do) you learn how to deal with little things such as a poker game and bigger things Family,friends& living your life in a friendly and giving manor.
.

i am full of advice, but i dont like to give it. but here goes.
1. raise on button with 910 suited
2. meet said gentleman outside
3. throw said punches
4. collect lost money
