9 Final Tables & No Trophy...

By saddsaxx
Aug 29, 08 01:29 AM

I was recently asked why after 9 final tables, I have yet to win the coveted cup. The answer is quite simple really which I am delighted to explain!
I have had the pleasure of playing with some very fine poker players, many of whom are much better players than I. I don't make excuses for my lack of trophy ownership. I was outplayed by a more deserving player all 9 times! I am not bitter, quite the opposite. I respect their play, their game & their conduct... with that said, I can also honestly say that I was proud in that moment of their victory, for them, of them and of myself, for having had the pleasure of playing against them and staying alive long enough to witness their win & place another lesson learned in my memory bank.
I am not deterred in my quest for the coveted cup, I am waiting, watching & learning about real winners, and I am coming!!!

Hey R, Honest, classy and very well written as usual. I, too, have been asked/harassed about not owning the coveted cup, but I just have FUN with it. I ask to rub theirs for good luck haha. I am truely happy and admire those great players who have them (I especially enjoyed watching cabinguy win his!), & look forward to the day when you and I get one too. Until then, I wish ya the best of luck at the tables. Always a pleasure playing with my bestest GF. Lorene aka hbkings ♥ xoxoxox

I had the plesure of making a final table with you a few nights ago in the $500, and you played very well. I myself didnt win either.. i did come in second though, but i had virtually no chips when going heads up so it was a bit unballenced. But i love your positive outlook, and think you are an outstanding player, and i will am willing to wager that it is only a matter of time before you win a trophey of your own.

My lucky one was on my 10th. So now I will wait till 20th to get my second. It feels good to get that monkey off your back. I have played against you and I am sure yours is right around the corner.

Saxx-I don't know you but I was at the table when this comment was made. I think you have to consider the source before you take anything to heart. This dude z gives new meaning to the term donkey azz donka donk donka donk. He has no class at the table, nor, I am sure, in life. He plays like a drunk retard and yet has the gall to berate the table every time he plays. I sure hope this jagoff doesn't run out of prozac or we are all in trouble.

Hang in there sad. I have 31 final tables and only 2 trophies. I have 15 second place finishes for the same reason as you. the person who I was up against was far better at heads up play than I. It's good that you recognize that and then you can take steps to improve on it.

The short handed game, followed by heads up is a hurddle you are obviously ready to tackle. Admitting you can improve is the key to winning. You are playing well to make finals and expect you'll haul a few cups soon! Congrats on your sucess thus far and looking forward to your my first trophy post!

I have played with you many times. You're a fine player and I have no doubt that you'll get that trophy soon! Might I suggest playing a few single table SNG's and the new Heads-Up challenges if you wish to improve your game. (I need to take my own advice!) See you at the tables!

That is very honest and classy which are two words that define you sadd and I have no doubt as having the pleasure of playing with you myself that you will WIN many trophies! You are a very strong player who is new to the game but growing in your skills with every hand that you play which is scary for the rest of the field! Keep up the good work and consistent play, the rest will come very soon.
