Was it a bad call, not technically. You had the best hand pre-flop. On the non technical side and I am sure that some would disagree, in a cash game I would not hesitate to make the call if I could put the other players on a certain range of cards and calculated that I was close to even money or better to win the pot. I was playing in a brick and mortar tournament with first prize being an entry to the main event WSOP. We were down to three tables. I was sitting with an average chip stack in the cut off position. The UTG player bet 4 x the big blind ($40,000.00) the player to his left called all in with $37,000.00. I was sitting in the cut off seat when I looked down at JJ. I had $57,000.00 left and the blinds were 5,000 and 10,000 w/ 300 ante. I raised all in and the UTG called. Good call or bad call? By the way the UTG had 10 k suited and the player to his left had AK unsuited. The UTG player rivered the flush.
Good luck to all

Of course it was a good call, had he folded for a 17k raise into a $135,000.00 pot it would have been a horrible fold.
