I agree...no point builder stats...DOUBLE the weight if a person makes two FT's in the big sunday tournaments...TRIPLE the weight if a person makes three FT's, and so on.

Why do we have two different leaderboards? and SPOY thoughts.

If you go to the following link...
http://www.spadeclub.com/community/leaderboard/yearly-final-tables
....you will see a list of the final table leaderboard for the year. Masterdan who is one of the best players on Spadeclub has the lead with 98 final tables and IsleRoyale has 56 final tables.
Now, if you go to the following link....
http://www.spadeclub.com/community/spoy/2008
...it shows Masterdan with 96 final tables (wrong) and IsleRoyale with 168 final tables....hmmmm
So we have one leaderboard that shows the # of final tables for cash tournaments and another leaderboard (SPOY) that lists all final tables including point builders.
Why do we suddenly have a new final table leaderboard that includes Point Builder Tournaments when we have never had one before? The SPOY ranking would look very different if the Point Builder Tournaments were left out and I personally do not believe they should be included.
On another note, I am in the top 5 for cash wins but only ranked 55th on SPOY...okay, I accept that, if you consider that many players above me have played more hands and therefore made more final tables (of which in many cases the majority are point builder) then if volume is the factor that swings the vote in their favor then so be it....however, I think we can all agree that individual success if outstanding should warrant a high ranking irrespective of volume. Here is an example.
The players who make the final table of a 5K or 40K tourney have an accomplishment to be proud of. The current SPOY formula does not reward those players as well as it should. For example, if a player was to win 2 x 40K tournies in one year they should be ranked very high on SPOY rankings (probably top 10 or top 5) and god forbid someone actually win 3 x 40K tournies, then they should be a lock to win the SPOY honors.
However, If I was to personally win the 40K tourney back to back to back in October, November and December I still would not be at the top of the leaderboard even at todays point totals...there is something seriously wrong with that, don't you think?
In closing, I like the fact that Spadeclub has introduced a race like this. There will always be problems with something like this but lets make it fair to all. Eliminate the point builders and give players that make a 5K or 40K final table greater reward than they are already getting. If you want to make it a real race, then you have to make the race fair and the goal attainable. As of right now, unless you play a million hands a day and play a bunch of point builders then you probably have no shot of ever being SPOY
Thats the end of the rant, see you all at the tables...Shane

I totally agree with shane. Once again ChillyRooster tries to talk the thing to death and ends up being far off base.
shane,mirek,lh90 should be in top 10 for sure mirek is 7tth but shane at 91? his stats ratio are the best on this site no one can argue that.
shane makes a strong point because I believe that their should be some required stats to qualify to be player of the year. one being you win a cash tourny. sanmark is 4th and has no wins and almost half a million hands played while shane has 13 wins with 33k hands played. next i think u should have 10 final tables in cash tournys shane has 33 already way more then mikeshannon. and finally I think cash wins more then 100$ because then the leader board will have players with a trophy.

I agree shane,i think its a joke point builders count! And lots others agree, but spade dont give a chit, they just want to reward the ones who play every tourn every day, instead of players that deserve to be there.
