Time to get a little perspective

It is sad that everyone is in an uproar about the spoy standings. "How can so and so be in front of me?" "It's all BS", "They need to fix it and get it right" etc etc etc. First of all, this site costs 19.99 per month, less if you sign up for a longer time or get people to join. Some people don't pay a dime. Spade club spelled out how they were going to rank people long before the list was produced. Everyone knew what the procedures were going to be. If it works out that you are behind someone that you don't think should be in front of you then damn the luck. Does it really make you feel less of a man or woman that people don't see you as number one on a ranked list? Can you hold your head a little higher in public if you are number 99 instead of 100. Do people walk down the street and whisper to their friends "you know who that guy is don't you? he is number 25 in the spoy on spadeclub, let's see if he will talk to us." GET A LIFE folks. SC never had to come up with something like this in the first place. I honestly think they should just take it back and let the bickering happen. Then they should shut down these blogs so you people can't bitch every time you feel slighted. Then they should shut down the site so they don't have to put up with a bunch of whining kindergartners 24/7. I am going to say this loud.........IF YOUR GAME IS SOOO GOOD, HIT THE TOURNY TRAIL AND DON'T LOOK BACK. If you want to make a living at this game, you ARE NOT going to do it on here or any other pay as you go site. Maybe if you can win the monthly 5 or 6 times a year, than this site is for you.

The intended purpose of this site is to provide a low key atmosphere for playing/learning/improving your game. Anything else beyond that is a bonus.

What it has turned into is a forum for bitching and complaining how you have been slighted by SC at every turn. GET OVER IT.

incaccuracies, but I think it is a great addition to the SC community and gives everyone a little something extra. But of course, there will always be detractors. Are the top players on the list really the top players on the site? Of course not, but alot of the top players are up there. No matter what the criteria and scoring, someone would be whining about it.

AMEN AMEN AMEN - Can I get an Amen? I learned a long time ago that you can never please everyone. I believe SC has done a good job listening to their players and trying to give them what they want (ie: omaha games, SPOY, WSOP and Bellagio seats, etc.). I believe the SPOY was originated because of all the negative feelings over the WPT Boot Camp promotion being tailored toward new players. Well, the SPOY is obviously tailored toward the founders. I must first say that for myself, I have no problems with SC. I really love this site. As to the SPOY standings, I'm surprised to find myself as far up on the list as I am. I would, however, like to know that the numbers are accurate so as to get some idea of my place in the SC world.
